LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) — Officials say two document-faking labs have been uncovered in Louisville after Kentucky Horse Racing Commission investigators began seeing fake racetrack licenses.
Racing commission Deputy Executive Director Marc Guilfoil says the holograms on the licenses were off and investigators were also finding fake supporting documents, including possibly Guatemalan or Venezuelan passports.

Racetracks require workers in the barns, betting windows and elsewhere to be licensed by the racing commission.

Louisville Metro Police Lt. Danny Assef told the Lexington Herald-Leader that the racing commission contacted Louisville police. He says police and Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents conducted two searches in December.

Assef says officials discovered two labs that had been used for making fake identification. He says four or five people were arrested on countereiting charges and two illegal immigrants were deported.

Assef says the investigation is continuing.
