    Response from Macy's

The following is a copy of the email I received from Macy's today.
I sent them an email earlier this week regarding the "Brown is the new White" T-shirts they were selling in some stores

Thank you for your message about the T-shirts sold at Macy's. Your
    feedback
is very important to us. Please be assured that the merchandise you
reference has been removed from our stores.

It is never our intention to offend you or any of our customers. We are
constantly looking for unique and differentiated merchandise that will
    be
    interesting to our customers.

We sincerely apologize if we offended you, and we appreciate the time
    and
care your took to tell us what you think.

    Sincerely,

    Ellen Fruchtman
Divisional Vice President of Public Relations

Wow! They not only removed the merchandise but apologized.....that's great!!! I just hope they aren't one of those giving funds to LARAZA, or some other group.

If they are though, I'll bet we could get them to quit doing it. They seem to care about us!

No, we should continue to shame them. That's what Sharpton, Jackson, La Raza etc. do. Have you ever seen those guys truly forgive someone who offended them?

It's a nice gesture, but they should not have even considered selling that disgusting shirt in the first place. They need to do MORE to make me happy.

All they want is people with money to shop there. I was ignored by a saleawoman in the past as she felt I wasn't rich enough to buy Ralph Lauren. My daughter was also ignored at another store. The greeter spoke to the woman with the Dolce and Gabbana purse and didn't even say hello to myu daughter. I avoid them as much as possible.

Just so you know, they were concerned that they had offended Latinos. Here's the news article:

Macy's Drops T-Shirt After Possibly Offending Hispanic Community

Macy's stores are no longer stocking a T-shirt because the company said the piece of clothing may have offended potential customers, according to MyFoxDFW.com.

The shirt — part of a clothing line exclusively aimed at Latina shoppers looking to express cultural identity through fashion — reads "Brown is the New White," across the chest.

Macy's apologized for its decision to sell the shirt, and released a statement.

"We are constantly looking for unique and differentiated merchandise that will resonate with our customers as hip, current and trendy. We also continue to work in developing business relationships with minority vendors to serve the growing diverse customer base. We apologize if customers have found some of the merchandise offensive and have removed the style that they found objectionable."

Same story as Burlington Coat Factory having to pull t shirts off the racks with pictures of Che Guerrera. The Cubans complained so not only did they stop selling the shirts but also apologized.
