Family Hopes Obama’s Administration Will Lift Immigration Restrictions

MIAMI -- Barack Obama’s administration gave hope to thousands of people in South Florida when it announced it would be lifting the restrictions on family travel to Cuba. But could the community of family members on visas -- or living in the U.S. illegally -- also be thrown a lifeline under the new administration?

South Florida resident Mun Mun Rana hopes so. She became a U.S. citizen in 2003 and remembers the days when her family was with her. She thinks about the celebrations in their native Bangladeshi dress and the adventures with her husband, but those moments are now a thing of the past she said.
