FARMINGTON, N.M. — Police say they expect to file additional charges against a Mexican man accused of molesting multiple children in Farmington.

Humberto Hernandez already faces four counts of first-degree criminal sexual penetration and two counts of third-degree criminal sexual contact of a minor.

Farmington Police Sgt. Robert Perez tells The Daily Times that more charges are certain. He said additional victims have been identified.

A parent of one of the suspected abuse victims notified police. Investigators then learned of allegations against the 40-year-old suspect involving several more children.

Hernandez is a longtime Farmington resident but is believed to be in the country illegally. He is being held on a $500,000 cash bond and also has an immigration hold.
