Father gets prison in son's death

A Linda Vista man was sentenced yesterday to 11 years in prison for driving drunk and fleeing the crash that killed his 9-year-old son. Marcos Muñoz, 33, pleaded guilty last month in San Diego Superior Court to charges of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated and felony child abuse in connection with the death of his son, Alex.

The boy was a third-grader at Linda Vista Elementary School.
Muñoz was driving on Interstate 8 near Texas Street in Mission Valley on July 14 when he crashed into a car parked on the shoulder about 1:40 a.m. Alex was in the passenger seat.

Muñoz, a construction worker, fled the crash and was picked up later by his brother. Police found the brothers later that day in a white pickup near the family's apartment.

Deputy District Attorney Melissa Vasel has said that Muñoz's blood-alcohol content measured 0.11 percent about three hours after the crash. The legal limit is 0.08.

How does an illegal immigrant serve probation?

Why isn't the judge requiring them to be deported after serving their sentance?

This scum was only worried about his own skin. He feared being caught and deported and if that meant letting his own son die, so be it. This guy deserves absolutely no mercy.
There's more family values for you. Maybe the idiot Bush would like to give this one citizenship?????

I want to ask also, why aren't these guys in the deportation pipeline after their sentences are up????????

Perhaps a few phone calls to ICE are in order here?

Aren't they about to run out of excuses and flowery statements to make about the people involved in incidents like this?
