Fed Draft May Order Agents To Back Off Immigration Enforcement

PHOENIX -- Right now in Arizona, if an illegal immigrant is pulled over for speeding, not only he, but everyone in his car can be detained if they can't prove citizenship. But a new policy draft for ICE agents seems to take a step back.
It reads, "Immigration officers should not issue detainers against an alien charged only with a traffic related misdemeanor, unless or until the alien is convicted." Basically, anyone caught for a misdemeanor or less will be let go.
Even though the draft has yet to be approved as policy, reaction was swift and clear from two sheriffs who have made immigration enforcement their calling cards.
"This is nonsense. This is an expression of truly what they want. They don't want us to enforce the laws against any illegal immigrants," said Pinal County Sheriff Paul Babeu.
"That's troubling. I can see a trend. This is just the first step because they want amnesty," said Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio.
But the immigration court in Phoenix alone is so backlogged, some cases are being scheduled for 2015. Experts in immigration law say we have to set priorities.
"I think the fed government is saying, 'We are going to prioritize. We are going to save our resources for people who commit serious offenses'," said immigration attorney and Somos America representative, Delia Salvatierra.
That means drug dealers, smugglers and violent offenders will no longer be treated the same as speeders and jaywalkers when it comes to immigration detainment.
The draft would change the way Sheriff Arpaio runs his crime sweeps. He can still arrest traffic offenders, but ICE agents may never pick up his inmates.
"I'm not too worried about this. I'm more worried if they are chipping away, how much farther are they going to go?" said Arpaio.

It's long past time to put them in front of congress and let them try to tell the lies under oath so they themselves can be prosecuted for Lying to Congress and GROSS DERELICTION of DUTY

It is time our Congress forms a seperate immigration court and stops the endless IA appeals.
Make it a felony to be in our country illegally or on a expired visa for fast track deportation. If one illegal gets caught then the whole illegal family gets deported to keep family unity intact.
They will not stop coming until the consequences are more then the rewards."A Government big enough to give you everything you want,is strong enough to take everything you have"* Thomas Jefferson

2015? Folks, this agency is attempting to do away with immigration enforcement, except in the most extreme cases and they are doing it under the guise of "setting priorities." Even in those cases, it's not guaranteed the invader will always be deported. But the immigration court in Phoenix alone is so backlogged, some cases are being scheduled for 2015. Experts in immigration law say we have to set priorities.
This agency is changing immigration law in this country, usurping power from the legislative branch of our government. They have no authority to do this unilaterally! This must be done by Congress and to my knowledge, this has not happened.
How do we stop this disturbing trend occurring before our very eyes? Seemingly, NOBODY in our government is doing anything about thisJoin our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)
