TAMPA, Fla. -- Police at Tampa International Airport said they found gun parts in a restroom at the airport terminal.

A woman with the cleaning crew was emptying a trash can in the ladies room and noticed something heavy, said police. The woman immediately called authorities.

Police identified the items as a firing pin and bolt carrier for an AK-47, an empty 30-round clip for an AK-47 and slides for four Glock handguns.

"In no way could these things be, have been used to function as a firearm, but they were parts of a firearm that someone had discarded. Why they discarded them or what purpose? We don't know," said Asst. Chief of TIA Police Ciro Dominguez.

Pasco County investigators said they are interested in the discovery because an AK-47 was used to fire shots at a Zephyrhills police officer earlier this week.
