Federal jury indicts illegal immigrant living for document fraud

A 24-year-old native of Mexico who had been illegally residing in Gettysburg was indicted for document fraud, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania.

Octaviano Alvarez-Lopez was charged Thursday in a three-count indictment by a federal grand jury in Harrisburg after he allegedly used fraudulent alien permanent residence cards after an August arrest in Gettysburg.

If convicted, Lopez faces 12 years in prison and a $750,000 fine.
