Group of illegal immigrants shot at, 1 wounded near Rio Rico

RIO RICO, Ariz (KGUN9-TV) - Deputies with the Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Office responded Friday morning to the area of Parker Canyon located near Rio Rico Arizona for a group of illegal immigrants who were shot at.

Sheriff Tony Estrada says that deputies received the call around 9:30 a.m. from the group who said they were shot at by 2 men wearing camouflage and using high-powered rifles. One of the 5 illegal immigrants was shot in the forearm and treated at an area hospital for his wounds.

Agents from the U.S. Border Patrol searched the area with helicopters and on foot but were unable to locate the shooters. Authorities were also notified by the illegal immigrants of human remains found near where they were shot, deputies located the remains and are investigating.

It's clearly not safe for illegal aliens to enter the US in violation of US law. Fine those 5 illegal aliens, empty their pockets ad backpacks, then ship them out of here.

And so it begins . . . . looks like some citizens have decided to do what the feds will not. I am not surprised but I don't condone it as it will only escalate. The Mexican government needs to be presented with a bill for the medical care and all expenses incurred addressing the presence of this group of illegals in the U.S.

They may have been walking through a drug run. Who knows who shot at them or even where they were shot at. Seriously, they could have got into a bar fight in San Diego, exchanged gunfire with others and drove out to the desert, and called 911 to leave the scene and still get medical treatment.

I know it sounds crazy but schemers are schemers and they will do some outrageous things to get what they want or cover up something they did.

Ha ha! You ladies are good! Actually, I would not be surprised if it was done as a political act by one of their own to show how the U.S. citizen is so prejudice against them as an attempt to further their cause here.

Another great question Judy! These invaders always seem to have cell phones with local contacts of all the AMERICAN authorities at their disposal, in the event they run into trouble while breaking into our country.

Are we sending these bills to the mexican consulates? We should be! I suspect mexico would take offense to that, as they do everything else related to this issue.

These squatters are not even across the border yet and we are already paying for them!!

My first response was, Mexican smugglers, unhappy that this group was not paying for escort service.
Many times we have heard reports of thieves and rapists targeting aliens on the U.S. side after crossing illegally. I suspect Mexican thieves preying on their own people. Not U.S. citizens.

Not so long ago, people came across the border on their own. Now the drug and human trafficers control the routes. They can not allow these people to get by without paying the fee. That would be bad for business.

Exactly. And what does this tell us? It tells us they are in cahoots with the local authorities. These are illegal aliens who already know the deputies in the County Sheriff's Department.

Lets do some research and see where Sheriff Antonio Estrada stands on AZ's immigration law.

Santa Cruz County Sheriff Tony Estrada and South Tucson Police Chief Richard Muñoz also oppose the law while Cochise County Sheriff Larry Dever and Pinal County Sheriff Paul Babeu support it. Tucson Police Chief Roberto Villaseñor has called the new law an unfunded mandate and has raised concerns about officers having to determine immigration status of crime victims. He has said guidelines from the state board that handles police training as well as legal reviews will help determine how it is implemented in Tucson.

Yep ... Santa Cruz County Sheriff Antonio Estrada likes illegal immigration, he doesn't want to stop it, he's got his deputies handing out business cards to them, "you get in trouble, call US, we'll protect you". Now why would a US County Sheriff be in cahoots with illegal aliens crossing our borders? There's only ONE REASON any police officer or deputy or Sheriff would be in cahoots with illegal aliens, and that's the booty from the illegal activity, including illegal drug trafficking, lining their pockets enriching themselves at the expense and suffering of US citizens.

Wake Up Americans. ANY police officer, Chief of Police, deputy or County Sheriff who doesn't enthusiastically embrace and welcome the AZ immigration law is on the take lining their pockets with the profits of the illegal activity that we know is part and parcel with illegal immigration.

Another question that needs to be asked is when law enforcement does make a bust of illegal drugs, what do they do with those drugs? How do they dispose of them or do they dispose of them? Who keeps the records and how can we verify that every pound, ounce, gram, case, backpack and truckload of seized and confiscated illegal drugs is destroyed?
