WORCESTER, Mass. (AP) - Federal immigration officials are cracking down on illegal aliens in Central Massachusetts.

They say 36 criminal aliens were arrested between June Eleventh and June 22nd.

Fourteen were lawful residents with criminal records. Sixteen had ignored deportation orders, four were charged with being in the country illegally, and another two returned to the US after being deported.

The arrests cast a broad net across the area, with arrests coming in communities ranging from Fitchburg, to Lowell, to Worcester.

Arrested immigrants came from countries including Albania, Brazil and El Salvador.

The arrests were part of Immigration and Customs Enforcement's "interior enforcement strategy," announced in April 2006.

Sorry, we should send all the illegals to Mass since they keep re-electing Kennedy and Kerry. Next to New Haven this is the place that deserves them.
