Feds Relying on Local First Responders for Help with Illegal Crossers

WESLACO – With the increase in border crossings, the Weslaco Fire Department says they’ve been busier with calls to the border.

Customs and Border Protection is now requesting help from the department’s Ambus, a special ambulance-bus that can treat large groups of people more efficiently.

The most recent response was Thursday night when it responded near Anzalduas Bridge to treat a large group of migrants caught illegally crossing.

The Ambus is a state asset and is used to respond to local and regional emergencies.

The only need for fire department involvement is to pull their trucks up to the border entry points when they're threatened to be overrun ........ TURN ON THE HOSES!

Yes, it is costing us a fortune, but the US is the one that let them in, not Mexico.


If my neighbor decides to allow or invite 100 people to live in their house, that is their business and nothing I can do to stop it.

When those 100 people decide to come on over and take up residency in my house, it is my responsibility to stop them, not my neighbor.

It would be great if Mexico was a good neighbor, but they are not.

It is the responsibility of the US to defend their borders.
