Arpaio Reacts to Those Protesting Arrests of Illegal Immigrants
    June 16th, 2006 @ 10:01am
    by Jim Cross/KTAR

Sheriff Joe Arpaio squares off with a group protesting his arrests of illegal immigrants.

A group calling itself Phoenix Copwatch demonstrated outside the sheriff's downtown headquarters Friday, they say, to demand an end to the arrests of illegal immigrants.

"What protest?" said Arpaio. "There are five guys here. I lock up more illegals in one hour."

"We're here to protest you misinterpreting the Arizona state law," said a protestor to the sheriff.

Arpaio confronted protestors and told them he's not backing down.

"I don't misinterpret (anything). I just follow it up ... In fact, I'm going to go out and lock up more," he said. "You put that in your pipe.

Protestors said they are horrified at the thought (in their words) of Arpaio's posse hunting down immigrants.

"The ACLU is also very concerned that there will be racial profiling," said a protestor.

"Don't tell me how my posse is trained," said Arpaio.

The sheriff said he would not change his policy, and he will not stop his deputy and volunteer posse operations and his crackdown on illegal immigration.

You gotta love this guy and his no nonsense attitude. The law is the law and this is that. Good for him one of the few who actually enforce the laws in this country and have no sympathy for people from other countries that sneak into our country and break the law. Keep those pink undies and bologna sandwiches coming Sheriff until you can deport them
Freedom isn't free... Don't forget the men who died and gave that right to all of us....

That is the problem in this country, we are always having to contend with someone's 'interpretation'. Plainly, there would be no error if everything including our language was defined correctly. We speak english, and if you don't then you must learn it. Also, the law goes like this, if you break it, you are in trouble. IT'S EASY!!!
We are NOT a nation of immigrants!
