Canyon Country resident hit with vehicle, drug and gun charges. A convicted felon and previously deported illegal immigrant has been arrested on multiple charges and detained by immigration authorities after a traffic stop in Canyon Country.

Detectives working the area of Camp Plenty and Fairweather in Canyon Country stopped a speeding vehicle on Friday. Byron Rousil, 28, of Canyon Country, the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle, said his driver's license was suspended.

During his arrest for driving on a suspended license, detectives found four plastic bags of methamphetamine and other evidence of drug sales in the car.

After arresting Rousil for possession of methamphetamine for sale, the detectives wrote and served a search warrant on Rousil's home. During the search detectives found more methamphetamine and a loaded gun.

Further investigation showed that Rousil is a felon, so he was additionally charged as a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition.

During booking it was discovered that Rousil is an illegal immigrant who has been previously deported from the United States.

Rousil has been detained on an Immigration Customs Enforcement hold, and faces possible federal charges for illegal entry into the United States.
