Raid at Omaha manufacturing company turns up 30 undocumented workers

(12/06/2006) OMAHA, Neb. (AP) Thirty people suspected of being illegal immigrants were arrested after immigration officials raided an Omaha manufacturer. Tim Counts is a spokesman for Immigration and Customs Enforcement. He says the men were rounded up Tuesday at two Plastrglas Incorporated buildings in north Omaha and charged with being in the country illegally. The men come from Mexico, Guatemala and El Salvador.

Counts says the investigation is continuing.

Plastrglas manufactures architectural shapes from plaster that is reinforced with glass fibers and distributes them nationally.

Counts said the raid was the first workplace raid in Nebraska this year.
