Migrants caught after coming ashore in Florida


MIAMI -- Officials say about a dozen migrants who came ashore in South Florida have been taken into custody.

According to The Miami Herald, a boat carrying the migrants landed Monday evening. Authorities caught 13 migrants and were searching for others that fled the scene.

A spokeswoman for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement says the agency is investigating the case to determine whether it was an attempt at human smuggling.
