Man with several aliases arrested on fraud charge, other minor charges

A man with at least eight different aliases was arrested Friday after being pulled over on a charge of a non-working brake light.

The man who provided his name as Benjamin Cortez is still being held in Collier County jail for Immigration and Customs Enforcement under the name he gave a deputy who stopped him Saturday. The 35-year-old man’s address is listed as 2117 Sunshine Boulevard, No. 1, Golden Gate.

However, his fingerprints returned another name: Jackson Reconco, with an arrest warrant out of Lee County charging a violation of probation for cocaine possession, according to the report. The records check also connected his fingerprints to several different driver license numbers and at least eight different aliases, the report says.

He was issued citations for no valid driver license, no stop lamp and failure to possess vehicle registration. After the records check returned the additional names, he was also charged with fraud-providing false information to a law enforcement officer.
