The head of a Naples-area nonprofit under investigation for its role in sending illegal immigrants to Canada told the mayor of Windsor on Friday to expect more immigrants from Southwest Florida, but denied he’s behind the arrivals.

In separate meetings with the Canadian media this week, Jacques Sinjuste, director of the Jerusalem Haitian Community Center in East Naples, said he knows who is behind the hundreds of illegal migrants flooding the Canadian border — a former volunteer with his group and an Immokalee social worker, both of whom vehemently denied Sinjuste’s claims Friday.

Sinjuste’s meeting with Windsor Mayor Eddie Francis at city hall lasted 30 minutes, but what it means for the Canadian city dealing with the arrival of hundreds of illegal immigrants — mostly Mexicans — over the past few weeks was unclear Friday.
