Thread: Focus campaign letter I am sending.

Dear Councilman

I am writing today to ask you to please follow the lead of Hazelton, PA and pass strict immigration enforcement measures in Allentown as soon as possible. The federal government is not adequately securing our border or enforcing our existing immigration laws. I feel it is incumbent upon our states and cities to take action to protect communities from illegal immigration. Illegal immigration has many negative repercussions for our communities including depressed wages, increased health care costs, increased costs to taxpayers, increased crime, infectious diseases, increased strain on natural resources and lost American jobs.

While America welcomes 1 million legal immigrants a year, illegal immigration of 15 to some estimates of 20 million cannot be tolerated. In the first five months of 2006, 150,000 illegals were caught at the border EACH MONTH. That is more people breaking in our country than all the people who came here legally in 1820. It also more people we have breaking into our country each month than we have troops in Iraq. Our immigration laws must be enforced for national security. There are reports that terrorist are learning spanish and crossing the border pretending to be Mexican migrants. While the US government is fighting the war on terrorism abroad, our nations borders, ports are not secured yet. Strict increased immigration enforcement will help secure the country from terrorist, foreign gangs, drugs and identity theft.


I hope you will stand with the vast majority of Americans that want our laws enforced and our communities and tax dollars protected from illegal aliens. The Congressional Budget Office(CBO) has just released projections of a $127 billion dollar tax bill at the federal level for amnesty and a $70 billion PER YEAR ON THE LOCAL LEVEL (please read the below articles)

We as a nation must stand up together and protect our nations, Please pass these ordinances as soon as possible.
