Madison man charged in wreck deaths

A 27-year-old Madison man was charged with vehicular homicide Monday in the deaths of a Mt. Juliet couple killed in a car crash Thursday.

Gustavo Garcia Reyes of 814 Anderson Lane was booked into Metro Jail on charges of vehicular homicide and evading arrest, Metro police spokesman Don Aaron said.

He is being held without bond. Immigration and Customs Enforcement has placed a detainer on Reyes because he appears to be an illegal immigrant, police said.

Reyes has been booked by Metro police in the past as Gustavo Reyes Garcia. His past arrests include charges of drunken driving, evading arrest, driving without a license and leaving the scene of an accident.

Lakewood Police Chief Lawrence Lee said Thursday that he had pulled Reyes over for erratic driving on Old Hickory Boulevard, and that Reyes drove off during the traffic stop. He crashed into two cars.

Lee and another officer said they were not in pursuit of Reyes, but followed him and later came upon the crash.

Sean Paul Wilson, 38, and his wife, Donna Lynne Wilson, 47, both of Mt. Juliet, were killed as a result of the crash. Police said they found open containers of alcohol in Reyes' vehicle and his speech was slurred during the traffic stop.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation will be testing a blood sample taken from Reyes following the crash for drug or alcohol content, Aaron said. •

I think this is great...so (mod edit)....another 2 Americans killed because of a Mexican illegal alien who was drunk...

Just one of many in the Nashville area. I almost posted this article, but it is becoming such commonplace here...it's almost old news before it even happens.

Article IV, perhaps Tennessee should not allow illegals to drive....certainly that is the case here in New Jersey....they use the bus or a bicycle. And if I am involved in an accident caused by an illegal alien driver from i or out of state without proper insurance, registration or driver's license, I will demand that the vehicle be impounded, that the driver be arrested and reported to ICE and if the cop does not do so, he will be threatened with the loss of his/her job.

I wish these reporters would get it straight from the beginning. The headline should read "Illegal Alien charged in wrecked deaths" NOT "Madison man charged in wreacked deaths".

Ha...we were giving them licenses with no questions asked. The State of Virginia started getting our illegal crime and help put a stop to it. There was even a 'special' line for them at the DMV.

FYI...Nashville is a sanctuary city for the illegals..our mayor tried to post an illegal to his cabinet...etc. Thank God that most of these migrants are decent people..I would say 10-20% are flat out criminals and it does not matter what gender they are.
