Four Iowa arrests made in federal gang sweep
DES MOINES, Iowa Federal immigration authorities say four gang members were arrested in Des Moines and Marshalltown in a two-week nationwide operation that resulted in 375 arrests.
Twin brothers Noe and Nahum Hernandez-Angeles were arrested Wednesday in Marshalltown, and Jonathan Romaniz-Reyez was arrested in Des Moines.
Federal authorities say all three men are illegal immigrants from Mexico with previous criminal convictions. The men face deportation.
Authorities declined to identify the fourth man because he is being prosecuted in separate proceedings for re-entering the United States from Mexico after he was deported.
The recent arrests were the latest in Operation Community Shield, an effort to combat what federal authorities called violent transnational street gangs. In the past year, authorities have arrested two thousand 388 gang members nationwide.Support our FIGHT AGAINST illegal immigration & Amnesty by joining our E-mail Alerts at http://eepurl.com/cktGTn
