What appears to have started out as a schoolyard shouting match between Venezuelan President Hugo Chávez and President Vicente Fox at the Summit of the Americas in Mar del Plata, Argentina, Nov. 4-5 has escalated into a full-blown diplomatic incident.

It could result in the breaking of diplomatic relations between the two nations.

Worse, it could rip open the hemispheric fault line that's developed between the countries that want a Free Trade Association of the Americas (FTAA) and those who don't â€â€

Although I don't like what little I know of Chavez, and I definitely don't like Vincente Fox, I hope Chavez succeeds in burying the FTAA and I am glad he stood up to Fox.

In fact, I wouldn't be unhappy if Chavez forced the absolution of NAFTA and CAFTA. Nobody but the globalists stand to gain from any of these half-baked agreements! Hardworking citizens everywhere will become third world citizens if the trade agreements stay in effect. Mexico and the US already suffer because of NAFTA and I'm sure CAFTA isn't going to help matters any.

Lets be honest. Venezuela is the oil rich country of Latin America like Saudi of the Middle East.

Chavez does hold the cards. His country owns the oil. His people own the oil. Chavez and Venezuela and the other 4 countries and there may be more as time progresses do not need the United States to be successful. They can develop their own markets without regulation by the WTO, without sacrificing their nation or its sovereignty, without kissing the butt of Globalists out to destroy their country and ravage its assets.

Americans are sick and tired of underwriting the development of other nations. What a total relief to find a nation in our hemisphere that believes it can succeed on its own by whatever means without being underwritten by the United States.

Mexico is a Turd Bowl. They are whiners, they are racists, they are elitists, they are criminals...violating our laws in the millions of infractions every single year....sucking the life and strength out of the United States and totally exhausting the American People.

Venezuela isn't doing that. They aren't dumping their poor people in the United States as a matter of "public policy".

Venezuela isn't infiltrating our political structure and trying to control our government.

Venezuela is standing tall using its resources to help its people and the people of other countries.

Venezuela is saying...we can stand on our own and help our region stand on its own.

My God, what a miracle!! A Latin American country truly dedicated to independence. If they use socialism to improve their nation so what? Free nations can employ whatever economic structure works for the nation. Chavez is not a communist. He is a capitalist/socialist. Just like the United States and he has been freely elected TWICE.

Leave this man and his country alone!!

Encourage independence. Burn the FTAA. It isn't good for any of the countries and hurts the United States more than any other by design.

FTAA is a fraud, just like CAFTA, just like APEC FTAA, just like NAFTA but worse.

You don't have to like Chavez to support what he is doing. But Americans as a free and independent people have to support Chavez because he stands for maintaining the national identity of his country, he stands for self-reliance and independence, he stands for speaking out, and standing up. These are the qualities we admire as Americans.

Whereas Vicente Fox is a free-loading, whining, racist, criminalized MOOCH!!

These days, the very sight of Vicente Fox makes me sick.

These days, the latest stand up comment from Chavez actually makes me laugh and gives me hope. I dare say, he is doing the same to a much greater degree for his people and the people of nations like Cuba and many others....and these days Hope and Oil are about all anyone can count on in Latin America and Venezuela offers both.

It takes a Man to stand up the President of the United States.

And only a Puppy to trail behind with a tongue hanging out hoping there are some "treats" at the end of the walk.

Give me the Man any day.
