ICE Worksite Enforcement
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), the largest investigative arm of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), is charged with ensuring national security by enforcing U.S. immigration laws and restoring integrity to the immigration system. To that end, ICE has developed a comprehensive strategy for fighting illegal immigration that includes effective worksite enforcement aimed at promoting national security, protecting critical infrastructure, and ensuring fair labor standards. From Fiscal Year 2004 to Fiscal Year 2005, the number of ICE worksite enforcement criminal investigations increased from 465 to 511.
Targeting National Security and Critical Infrastructure Sites
In accordance with ICE’s homeland security mission, ICE special agents prioritize worksite enforcement efforts by focusing on investigations related to critical infrastructure and national security.
