'Freedom And Liberty' For All...In A Dying Nation

'Freedom And Liberty' For All...In A Dying Nation
    By Karl Schwarz

Have you ever considered exactly what it actually means to be an American?

It is all about freedom and liberty, advanced citizenship, but it is also about humility. The truly great do not have to thump their chests and brag of how 'great' they are.

One of the things that I find most disconcerting about my homeland, the nation I love, is the sheer complacency I now see in Americans. The literal future of America is being squandered by pathetic 'leaders' and corrupt greedy insiders, yet Americans blink, yawn and go right back to grazing.

There was a time when we, as a colony of citizens, put our lives and fortunes on the line to cast out King George. What we have today as a US 'government' is far worse than what our Founding Fathers rose up against, yet Americans just blink and snooze rather than face the realities that are undermining their freedoms and liberties each and every day.

There was a time when peoples all over the world looked up to America as the shining example of freedom, liberty...the 'American Dream' was revered. Now, most of those same nations laugh at the stupidity they see in the U.S. and its pompous attitude that America is the be-all, end-all of all everything. It may have been...once...but those days are long gone.

How did we get into such a position of low esteem, if not abject hatred, around the world?

It was more than just George W. Bush. It was more than just Clinton, or even George H W Bush. Like any cancer, the rot and decay eating America is a progressive thing...and is usually fatal for all nations so afflicted.

It is not just that we have pathetic, lying, criminal leaders. It is that Americans tolerate it as if they had no other choice but to accept mediocrity and living a lie.

Which is more important Â* freedom and liberty, or what stupid thing Britney Spears or Paris Hilton did today? You would think the answer for most is a no-brainer, but for many Americans, that no longer seems the case.

America pretends to be all about "the rule of law" yet not a day goes by that American media shows the world the sheer level of malignant fraud we have among us. Yet we as a people do little or nothing about it.

I have asked myself many times why that is so.

The former Czechoslovakia leader, the last president before the nations split into the Czech Republic and Slovakia, is quoted as saying:

"They say a nation has the politicians it deserves. In some sense that is true: Politicians are truly a mirror of the society and a kind of embodiment of its potential. At the same time, paradoxically, the opposite is also true. Society is a mirror of its politicians. It is largely up to the politicians which social forces they choose to liberate and which they choose to suppress, whether they choose to rely on the good in each citizen, or on the bad."

The key phrase is "embodiment of its potential". If people refuse to act, nothing gets done, and the potential dies. I have said it before, 300,000,000 opinions...and not a plan in sight. That is what America has devolved into.

Complacent, herd-like, Americans keep waiting for the next big lie from Washington DC as if that lie will cause manna to fall from Heaven and provide painless solutions to lethal problems within the heart of Our Nation to miraculously appear.

'Potential' is what I see that is dying in America. I see far too few Americans truly willing to put themselves on the line to defend the freedoms and liberties that are being taken away from them by the most corrupt regime in U.S. history.

Now we have an 'election' before us. The media and even the candidates are touting that this is the most important election in American history.

    Is it?

I think it is, but not what they are touting it for.

If you look close at McCain and Obama there is no 'change.' The last thing McCain or Obama stand for is TRUE change. It would be 4 or 8 more years of the same. And worse. The cancer would progress rather than be addressed.

Vaclav Havel is also credited with this quote:

"The tragedy of modern man is not that he knows less and less about the meaning of his own life, but that it bothers him less and less."

I see that every day. Shrug the shoulders, go shop to help the American economy, believe every lie you hear from DC via the lag dog media.

I refuse to vote this year for one reason Â* I refuse to endorse who they selected to lead us because I cannot respect either McCain or Obama. I cannot find any quality of leadership as an American President in either one of them. None.

Vaclav Havel had many meaningful quotes:

"If every day a man takes orders in silence from an incompetent superior, if every day he solemnly performs ritual acts which he privately finds ridiculous, if he unhesitatingly gives answers to questionnaires which are contrary to his real opinions and is prepared to deny his own self in public, if he sees no difficulty in feigning sympathy or even affection where, in fact, he feels only indifference or aversion, it still does not mean that he has entirely lost the use of one of the basic human senses, namely, the sense of humiliation."

That is what has happened. America has humiliated itself before the entire world and Americans either shrug their shoulders and go back to being grazing Sheeple or thump their hollow chests about how 'great' America is.

We either cannot or will not feed and house our own people, so how great can that be?

Our leaders shame and mock us each and every day, to the point the rest of the world comes to the conclusion that We the People prefer to be led by the most despicable among us. We constantly put the wrong people on pedestals.

Yet, about 100,000,000 Americans will go to the polls in November to rubber stamp one of two dupes who have been selected by the elite to 'lead' us. .

Things will change only when America itself changes.

So, why is this the most important election in our history?

Because America is DYING, and if we keep endorsing such pathetic leadership with our votes, we are complicit in our own demise. It's also called suicide.

May God bless America...for its salvation will certainly not come from Washington, DC.

I don't agree with the 'refuse to vote' mind set. You don't have to vote for Mclame or Obama, but vote for somebody! Even tho a third party is unlikely to win this election, at least, if enough people do vote third party, it will send a message for the next election...

That's what many of us did. Unfortunatly I don't know the answer because none of the above doesn't get counted. I remember most of my adult life I didn't vote because I believed it didn't matter or there wasn't anyone I was really behind. I know all the big pushes for voting because less than half of the people able to vote bothered. So the few won out of default......not because the majority of the people voted and that's what they wanted. I mean when you have people walking miles to vote in a foreign country and over half of us couldn't get to the corner church to vote because there's no one to support and we're tired of picking between 2 loosers......isn't that an indication there's some serious problems. I used to ask alot of people why they didn't vote and 99% said it's because they don't believe their vote counts OR they don't like the choices.

When I saw what they did to Perot,(threatning his family and refusing him a debate) when I see they KNOW there's voter fraud and declare winners when 4% of the vote has be counted...when they change the rules or have inconsistant rules....voting machines are broken, ballots are "lost", dead people are voting, they don't count the servicemen and womens votes........it truely does dampen any thought of "freedom" and my right to vote and that my vote is counted. They count till they get the result they want and stop.

I saw this debate where they let the select few answer questions and refuse to let others say anything. They pre-select the people who are allowed to attend and refuse to have any intelligent debate and will haul you off if your aren't a "yes man". You can't even peacefully gather where the others are bent in silencing you in one way or another.

I think more people might say and do something if they didn't have the Patriot Act where anything negative is seen as a personal threat and that you aren't targeted as some terriorist or hate group for simply having an opinion. I mean I hear so many giving valid points for why they don't agree with something and immediatly you are racist, natzi or accused of something that never crossed your mind.

I remember when anyone could be president and now it's just anyone who's got ALOT of money and really good connections are allowed. Our government functions different and away from the people......I wouldn't be surprised that right now ..... long term American citizens are outnumbered by new legal and illegal immigrants who weren't here for 1/2 of anything we've done in the past 60 years. Let alone a history of family who fought and died for everything we HAD. They barely teach history anymore where they aren't bashing Americans in one way or another. Every move we have made to be one, they have countered with determination to keep us divided.
