Sears to unveil new line of Latina apparel

    http://www.tucsoncitizen.com/index.php? ... 05d1_sears

Now Sears is "Hispandering!" Man ... where are we? Is this still the USA???? How about a new line of "American" apparel .. complete with stars and stripes, the Statue of Liberty, a few t-shirts that declare "LEGAL!"

Grrrrrr ... this is INSANITY .. but it will make big bucks for Sears. Hey ...is that why Sears is doing this? Oh .. silly me. I should have understood the motive.

Well, I won't be buying any Latina apparel! .. or anything else from Sears!

Sears to unveil new line of Latina apparel
    Dow Jones News Service
    April 20, 2005

HOFFMAN ESTATES, Ill. - Sears Holdings Corp. and Latina Media Ventures, the publisher of Latina magazine, yesterday said they would create a new line of apparel, footwear and handbags designed for Hispanic women.
The new line, called Latina Life apparel, is designed by Jones Apparel Group Inc. under the fashion direction of Latina magazine.

It will make its debut at 425 Sears stores this fall, Sears Holdings said.

The brand will be extended to include costume jewelry and other accessories next spring.

Sears said the Hispanic market is an important audience for retailers, representing more than 13 percent of the U.S. population.

Sears Holdings, the nation's third-largest retailer, was formed by the acquisition of department store operator Sears, Roebuck & Co. by Kmart Holding Corp. in March.

Perhaps checking the last name on the Sears Board Of Directors list will shed some light on the motivation for the behavior at Sears.

If you haven't noticed, La Raza strategy is to infiltrate the organization and then threaten with PC/racial blackmail to turn the organization into another La Raza advocacy group while making the organization's original goal secondary (selling things in this case, envirnonmental protection in the case of the Sierra Club, a government preserving the Republic in the case of the United States, etc.).

I cut back shopping at Sears when the signs went up in Spanish, and then stopped shopping there completely when they started doing the PA announcements in Spanish. I doubt that they have more than 2 or 3 Spanish speaking potential shoppers for the local Sears store; but they still do everything in Spanish.

Sears has a lot of good ideas...that's why they're bankrupt. I thought Sears had just sold out to KMart?? Didn't I hear that on the news??

    Simple enough..boycott Sears.

Sears and Kmart did merge. Who bought whom sort of depends on how you look at the deal. I do think only 3 or 4 or members of the Sears board are to be retained for the combined holding company with almost all, if not all, of the original Kmart board keeping their positions.

    I agree ... boycott Sears.

You mean they put their pants on differently than other people?
Or do you mean "put their pants on different things than people?"

I wonder if they will feature a "Chiquita Banana Hat?"

    I always wanted one.
