    The Atlanta Journal-Constitution

DeKalb County CEO Vernon Jones threw himself into the Democratic contest for U.S. Senate on Saturday with searing criticisms of Republican incumbent Saxby Chambliss for his stands on immigration and the war in Iraq.

I'm all for electing people who are AGAINST SHAMNESTY in any way, shape or form.

BUT how can we afford to give democrats ANY MORE CONTROL? We need independants.

Republicans in control = shamnesty as demanded by corporations.

Democrats in control = shamnesty in exchange for the hispanic voting bloc.

Isn't that what elected politicians are supposed to do, listen to the people? I don't see where Jones is going with this. Oh, that's right, he's an amnesty supporter - that's why he is attacking Chambliss for voting against the amnesty.
There is a degree of hypocrisy in Chambliss changing his vote. I think it was more a matter of him trying to salvage his political career than giving a whit about what was best for his state or for his constituents.
