Immigrant advocates fear unequal enforcement.

Driving without a license could put illegal immigrants a step closer to deportation in Georgia.
A bill passed this session by the General Assembly requires a minimum two-day jail sentence on the first conviction of driving without a license. The bill also directs jailers to check the nationality and legal status of those convicted and to report those here illegally to immigration officials for deportation.

06-05-2008, 10:00 AM #2It’s possible that illegal immigrants would have a great number of repeat violations because they have no way to legally obtain a Georgia driver’s license, Schiralli acknowledged.
How many of these illegals would fail a drivers test in the US, be denied a license and STILL drive?
They basically think nothing of disrespecting the majority of our laws and demand we put up with their unlawful behaviour? Then they wonder WHY Americans are pissed?
