Daly City police Sgt. David Mackriss says 20-year-old Carlos Mejia-Quintanilla, of San Francisco, and 26-year-old David Mejia-Sensente, of Daly City were arrested Friday as part of the investigation into the fatal shooting of Alexander Castanon.

Twenty-six-year-old Castanon was shot June 21 as he got off a bus. Investigators believe a dispute had taken place on board.

The suspects are allegedly members of the Mara Salvatrucha street gang, MS 13, a multinational Hispanic gang that started in Los Angeles and is known for its violent attacks.

Police and friends say Castanon was not a gang member.
