Police: Gang members attack teens

Gang members wielding baseball bats and tire irons attacked three teenagers early Saturday morning in Dale City, police said.
At 2:58 a.m., three vehicles drove by the intersection of Barksdale Street and Dale Boulevard yelling a gang name, said Sharon Richardson, Prince William County police spokeswoman.

She would not name the gang except to say that it was a known gang in the area.

Three 19-year-old Dale City men were in a vehicle near the intersection when the three passing vehicles stopped. A handful of young men got out of the car, Richardson said.

The young men, who carried bats and tire irons, surrounded the vehicle and pulled the three men out of the car, Richardson said.

The group, which was described as Hispanic males between the ages of 18 and 25 years old, assaulted the teens, Richardson said.

She said there were between three and five assailants.

Most of the assailants drove away in vehicles and one ran away, Richardson said.

The teenagers were treated on the scene for non life-threatening injuries, she said.
