Fellow officers mourn over body of agent reported hit by fleeing vehicle in dunes

A U.S. Border Patrol agent was struck Saturday morning by a Hummer in the Imperial Sand Dunes as the vehicle was fleeing law enforcement officers, according to witnesses in the dunes. The body of the agent could be seen covered by a white tarp after being struck by the vehicle about 9 a.m. in the dunes near Gray's Well Road and south of Interstate 8. The Hummer and a Black Ford F-150 pickup truck were being pursued by law enforcement officers on I-8 when they turned into the dunes and fled toward Mexico, according to witnesses in the dunes.

"We did lose an agent today. He was killed," said Agent Jeremy Schappell, spokesman for the Border Patrol's Yuma sector.

Schappell said he could not release anymore information about the fallen agent until next-of-kin had been notified.

The agent was laying down spike strips in the dunes to stop the Hummer when he was struck, according to the reports. Border Patrol agents could be seen rushing to the scene with weapons drawn as they sought the fleeing vehicles. A Border Patrol helicopter could also be seen flying overhead.

    More details to come.

Tragic. Brutal. Outrageous. May this brave American now rest in peace. Another death of an American citizen that should never have happened. More blood on Bush, his administration, OBL's, spineless politicians and every illegal alien advocate everywhere. I suppose the murderer wouldn't really be illegal, according to Hillary?

That's it ! I've seen, and had enough ! There is no nice way to say this, but WE seem left with no other choice but to physically remove, and prosecute those in power responsible for these atrocities to keep taking place in our country.

Just like prosecuting border patrol agents for shooting a KNOWN DRUG DEALER WORKING FOR THE DEA, and then letting him go ? How much longer will it be before the Drug cartels come up further into America and doing their deeds, like they all ready are ?

Someone said to me, that if we get rid of Washington and all those responsible for the crimes against this Nation, we wouldn't have anyone left to run the country and those that would replace them wouldn't be that much better ?

I informed my friend, that WE would be 100 times better off having NO ONE in Washington, versus' having what WE have now, and have to pay them for this kind of service ? A lot better off !

Remove the Federal Governments power and return it to the states ! The only thing our Federal Govt. is supposed to do in the first place, is provide a strong defense for our country and it's allies, provide diplomatic relations for trade purposes, and over see the taxing of this nation. And they can't even do that !

To A Better Day America !

Prayers to his family and friends.

Hard to find words when one feels anger and sorrow.

    May he rest in peace.

May God bless him. My prayers and sympathy to his family and fellow agents. Another American hero who died in defense of our country. A tragedy that was preventable if the US governement worried less about hurting Mexico's feelings and gave the border patrol the tools to defend themselves, our border and our country.

Were the vehicles and the murders caught?

Was the Hummer a Mexican police, army or private vehicle?

In view of the recent violence in Mexican border towns, are the border agents equipped with the necessary tools to defend themselves and us if the violence spills over the border?

    BUILD THE FENCE.
