S.L. County GOP to tackle immorality, immigration:

Demand the repeal of the state’s guest-worker program. Pledge support for the Utah Compact. Declare that sex should happen only between a husband and wife.

Salt Lake County Republicans could take a stand on those volatile issues Saturday as delegates gather at the South Towne Expo Center for the party’s annual convention.

Although picking a new party leader will be the main event — former Chairman Thomas Wright has resigned to become head of the state GOP — delegates will also dabble in policy.

Mostly, they will talk immigration. But expect some buzz about morality, too.
