    Give California Back To Mexico

    Give California Back To Mexico
Posted in Illegal Aliens & Immigration Reforms on October 10th, 2007 by MorningStar

While the American people are slowly pushing their elected representatives in Washington into the corner over the massive numbers of illegal aliens allowed free rein in the United States, more and more city officials around the country are doing everything possible to subvert the federal government’s enhanced immigration enforcement measures and it is about time that they are held accountable for the damage they are doing to the entire nation.

From Maine to sunny Southern California, 120 cities and two states have either declared or de facto sanctuary policies in place to protect their local population of illegal aliens and to enhance to stature of their local politicians, however, the local implementation of sanctuary policies has an impact that reaches far past the city line into neighboring cities, counties and into other states, and the subversive affect of local sanctuary laws on this country’s ability to enforce immigration can no longer be tolerated by a nation struggling to gain the upper hand on our currently unchecked invasion of illegal aliens.

California with its twenty-nine sanctuary cities is realistically characterized as the illegal alien gateway to the United States. In 1994 when 43% of all illegal aliens in the United States lived in California, it was estimated that there were approximately 1.7 million illegal aliens residing in California and that the number was increasing at a rate of around 450,000 per year. In the thirteen years between 1994 and 2007 the illegal alien population of California soared to nearly 6 million but the state’s share of illegal aliens dropped from 43% in 1994 to 24% in 2007.

California’s economy is slowly sinking under the burden of six million illegal aliens. More than 30% of the state’s budget goes to taking care of its large population of illegal aliens. The economic drain is most visible through the heavily affected public school system, the overburdened health care system and the increased costs of a criminal justice system inundated with criminal aliens who shouldn’t be here in the first place. The state’s prohibition on asking welfare recipients about their immigration status has resulted in an astronomical number of illegal aliens receiving state funded health care benefits, housing subsidies, food stamps, general assistance and participating in school lunch programs, all of which add to the continuing drain of state funds.

Attempts to bolster California’s economy at the expense of California’s business owners has resulted in one of the nation’s most hostile business climates and many companies have been forced to throw in the proverbial towel and leave the state rather than face inevitable bankruptcy. The primary consequence of businesses migrating out of California is a much tighter job market and fewer jobs for the illegal aliens. As the business climate in California has become increasingly hostile over the years and the job market has become much tighter, illegal aliens looking for employment have began to leave the state looking for greener pastures in other areas of the nation.

California continues to attract hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens into the country every year. The golden state’s large number of sanctuary cities and the most relaxed welfare programs in the nation provide strong encouragement to potential illegal entrants worldwide. While many of them are content to sit back, churn out anchor babies as fast as nature permits and drink cheap tequila before plowing their uninsured old cars into hapless American citizens, others come here with the hope of bettering their lives through semi-honest employment, and the majority of their earnings are shipped home to Mexico as soon as they can cash their pay check at one of the numerous rip-off check cashing facilities that have sprung up to accommodate the needs of those without genuine identification documents. With the increasing scarcity of employment opportunities and the high cost of living the illegal aliens are quickly realizing that beyond the tolerant atmosphere, the good weather and the easy welfare money, there is very little for them in California, and as soon as they hear about the employment opportunities waiting for them in places like Iowa and Kansas they are headed to the bus station and disperse throughout the nation, but for every illegal alien leaving California for other parts of the U.S., there are ten to fifteen more entering the country and headed for the golden state as the cycle is endlessly repeated.

To put it quite bluntly, the United States would be better off, economically, if it gave the state of California back to Mexico and turned their border fence so that it ran along the edge of Arizona and Nevada before cutting over to the coast along the Oregon/California border. By doing this the United States government could get rid of one fourth of the illegal aliens in the country and simultaneously eliminate the main attraction that draws them across the border. The federal government could allow the legal citizens and businesses that wanted to leave to do so and use the billions of tax dollars pumped into California every year to pay for illegal aliens the state encourages to come there for infrastructure maintenance throughout the remainder of the nation and they would have plenty left over to pay for stronger immigration enforcement in states that weren’t trying to scuttle their efforts. The entire country would benefit immensely.

I've often said about this reconquista talk that, ok, give this state back to Mexico, then what?
They'd just go elsewhere because that's where all the 'stuff' would be.
Please don't fence me in here!

Illegals are invading the country, not just the Southwest. Giving one inch is the equivalent of re-starting the Civil War.
Americans don't give an inch. We re-take Mexico but we don't give one inch.

I don't even recognize Arnold anymore. We had such high hopes for him. He was voted in after booting out Gov. Davis. First thing Arnold did was reverse the law allowing illegals driver's licenses. Then he had a special election for some propositions that the unions fought hard against. He hasn't been the same since. He's caught the Kennedy/Sacramento liberal disease.
