Americans are wondering – and perhaps some are even dreading – what, if anything, Barack Obama will do about immigration reform or "amnesty," especially if Democrats lose the Senate to Republicans next week.

As reported earlier, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS) has issued a procurement request for the card stock needed to make as many as 34 million work permits and "green cards" over the next five years. The federal solicitation was discovered and first reported by Breitbart News.

Congressman Louie Gohmert (R-Texas), a member of the House Judiciary Committee – which oversees immigration and naturalization – says one doesn't have to read between the lines.

"It's pretty obvious that when a request goes out for paper and the actual forms to provide millions of people green cards – amnesty – who are here illegally, it's pretty clear," says Gohmert. "I mean, this president has not been quiet about it."

The effect on voting demographics could be "incredible," the lawmaker says. "It's ten percent of our population," he emphasizes. "This would be a president unilaterally changing the legal population of America by ten percent in just a matter of time."

It will be up to Congress to block the president from taking such action, says Gohmert. "We have got to stand firm and defund anything that will allow him to do that so that he simply will not have the money, [so he won't have] the resources to do it," he states.

Gohmert made his comments Monday on American Family Radio's "Washington Watch" with Family Research Council president Tony Perkins.
