GOP Congress Earmarks $4 Million for Leftist Pro-Illegal Alien Group

Thanks to a congressional earmark, an open-borders advocacy group that pushes for driver’s licenses, free in-state tuition and healthcare for illegal aliens and bilingual requirements for state agencies and ballots is slated to get $4 million in new taxpayer money to add to the more than $30 million it has received from various federal agencies since 1996.

The National Council of La Raza (NCLR), Spanish for “the race,� will get its latest grant through an appropriations bill passed by Congress on November 18. The Joint Explanatory Statement of HR 3058, available on the House’s Rules Committee website lists 1,100 plus earmarks in the bill, including La Raza’s grant under the Housing and Urban Development Department’s Self-Help and Assisted Ownership Programs. Under this account La Raza will receive four times as much as the Special Olympics, which won a $1-million earmark.

La Raza is the nation’s largest Hispanic advocacy organization. It was adamantly opposed to the REAL ID Act, which will prevent states from issuing driver’s licenses to illegal aliens if they want them to be usable for federal purposes. It is also opposed to the CLEAR Act, which would grant state and local law enforcement agencies that wish to do so the authority to enforce federal immigration laws.

Spontaneous Spending

The Capital Research Center (CRC), which rates public interest groups on a scale of 1 to 8, with 1 equaling “radical left� and 8 equaling “free market right,� gave La Raza a rating of 2, the same rating it gave People for the American Way and NARAL Pro-Choice America. CRC reports that La Raza’s net assets totaled nearly $52 million in 2003.

La Raza Senior Vice President Charles Kamasaki explained in an e-mail that his group typically gets government grants three different ways: The largest awards probably come from competitive bidding processes for grants and contracts said Kamasaki. But other grants include congressional earmarksâ€â€

Well, well, well.

So, how do you suppose THAT happened?

Seems to me there had to be quite abit of that LOBBYING GOING ON to get $4,000,000 added to our national debt for National Council of La Raza to use to end our nation.

Lobbying is prohibited for 501 C 3 Charities. They are not allowed under IRC to "influence legislation or impact public policy". FOUL! FOUL! FOUL! Send them all to the DC equivalent of the CupCake Farm where Martha was....or better yet....make them serve HARD TIME. After all, they are Traitors.

I guess corporate contributions are getting a little "slow" so they needed some help from the Traitors in Congress to keep their big salaries and fancy office space and plane tickets bought.

Gee how about we just give 10 mil to the KKK? I mean they to deserve their fair shake right? Oh wait a minute that wouldn't fly, then neither should this. LaRaza is the brown version of the KKK. Whatever Senator did this should be impeached.

ALIPAC, the Minute Man Project, Fair, and all the other anti-illegal immigration organizations should immediately file a Class Action Lawsuit against the federal government for this $4,000,000 EACH plus attorney fees.

The illegal alien Irish should form a National Leprachaun Council and sue for equal advocacy contributions from the US Congress.

Every American Citizen should sue for equal advocacy contribution from the US Congress.

The NAACP should sue for equal advocacy contribution from the US Congress for every cent ever paid to the National Council of La Raza.

WHERE IS THE NAACP? Do they still exist? Do they DO ANYTHING for their people?

ALIPAC is doing more for Black Americans than the NAACP!!

Oooh, this is good. A true acronym. This is even better than NCLR...not an acronym (although the Wackident probably thinks this is short spelling for NuCuLaR.)

Politicians like Acronyms. Look how many voters we'd have?

That was EXACTLY what I said on the BURGHART thread! ALIPAC should become a 501 C 3 organization. IF La RAZA can get that kind of money out of OUR POCKETS, by damn, WE should be able to do the same thing. And, you're right, Judy---FAIR, NUMBERSUSA and MANY other groups who support the OPPOSING point of view which, by the way, represents the MAJORITY of AMERICANS, should qualify as one of those tax-supported groups. THAT, my friends, is REAL discrimination. Just because THEY are in the MINORITY does NOT qualify them for FOUR MILLION DOLLARS of our MONEY.

Judy--as for the NAACP, I honestly think they have become irrelevant and useless. They are more like the Black Panthers these days than what they were at their inception.
