Governor backs education for kids of illegal immigrants
Schwarzenegger was asked whether illegal immigration is to blame for insufficient school funding in California.

ROCKLIN – Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger said today that children of illegal immigrants should have the right to an education in California.
"We must provide education for everybody. It's that simple," he said in response to a media question during a visit to Rock Creek Elementary School.
"We cannot go and say to a kid, 'You were born to an illegal immigrant; you cannot get an education,'" he said. "That's wrong. Every child ought to get an education."
The governor made the statement in response to a question about suggestions that illegal immigration is to blame for insufficient school funding.
The governor has joined the illegal-immigration debate several times in recent weeks. In April, he stirred controversy when he called on the federal government to "close the borders" between the U.S. and Mexico. He later clarified that he had meant to say "secure the borders."
A week later, he publicly praised the "Minuteman Project" in which volunteers were patrolling the U.S.-Mexico border last month and alerting border patrol agents to possible illegal crossings.I stay current on Americans for Legal Immigration PAC's fight to Secure Our Border and Send Illegals Home via E-mail Alerts (CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP)

Once again, the inability to understand a fundamental difference:
The American born children of illegal aliens are U.S. citizens, by birth, and are entitled to that education.
It is the foreign born children of illegal aliens that should be addressed here.

Too bad Arnold chose not to answer the question. It's like hell vomited and the Bush administration appeared.

Too bad Arnold didn't see fit to answer the question. It's a good question that deserves a response. It's like hell vomited and the Bush administration appeared.
