    Grassley Statement on CAFTA Passage

en. Chuck Grassley, chairman of the Committee on Finance, today made the following comment on final Senate passage of the CAFTA implementing bill. The measure came out of the Finance Committee earlier this week.

“This agreement levels the playing field for U.S. exporters. Farmers, ranchers, manufacturers, and service providers in Iowa and nationwide will get a better trade deal in CAFTA countries than what they have today.

“Six months ago people said this agreement was a non-starter. Now a majority of senators think it’s a no-brainer. It’s halfway to becoming the law of the land. A strong Senate vote gives momentum for a solid House vote. It looks like the President will have the bill on his desk this summer. It was initially an uphill climb, but once the facts were out, members could see the agreement was very much in our economic and national security interests. They looked beyond the rhetoric and endorsed the bill with strong bipartisan support. Passage sends a strong signal to our trading partners that the United States remains engaged in Latin America and deeply committed to opening markets globally.

Re: Grassley Statement on CAFTA Passage

Passage sends a strong signal to our trading partners that the United States remains engaged in Latin America and deeply committed to opening markets globally.
What in the hell does this mean? Who are our trading partners that we are trying to send a strong signal to?

What signal are we trying to send to whoever it is he's talking about?

Who authorized the deep commitment to opening markets globally?

Did American authorize "opening markets globally?"

I believe we said loudly and resoundingly, WE DO NOT WANT TO OPEN MARKETS GLOBALLY?"

So...who is in charge here? A bunch of sicko-wacko-evil-parasites-from-hell who would sell their soul and sell out their Nation to sell another bushel of beans and establish GMO Farming in yet another mass of the planet.

It is repugnant, it is revulsive.

These people who voted for CAFTA are not blind, they are not dumb. They are actually quite intelligent. What they are not is loyal to the American People. What they are not is patriotic to the best interest of the United States.

If Grassley is referring to "China" as the trading partner that we want to send a strong signal to....well...big whoopee. So we keep "China" out of Central America and let them buy up the United States. If a trading partner is already in possession of enough American dollars to bid on UNOCAL; purchase IBM and MAYTAG...and still have another $600,000,000,000 .... yes $600 Billion in US DOLLARS CASH after they close on these deals, why would we "care" if they are opening plants in Central America? Better Central America than the United States.

US played right into China's hand. CAFTA will weaken the US Economy; reduce our standard of living; suck dollars right out of the US from every nook....then China will be in an even better position to buy out our companies and operate them right here in the United States. Many of these companies heading to Central America will be "ripe" for sale with reduced operating costs and expanded market without regulation or tariff restriction. These are the next companies that China will bid to buy. This way they will control the United States and all its interests in Central American which means, it will control both regions with one hit.

All CAFTA means to China is an advance American force doing all the dirty work to get it ready for their BIG TAKEOVER of both regions through Goldman-Sachs and the New York Stock Exchange!

Grassley should have listened to the "citizen rhetoric" instead of the White House "treason rhetoric".

CAFTA doesn't deserve the word 'Trade' at all---CAFTA deserves the words 'giveaway socialtist destruction'.

You are correct RonLaws. What I wonder is why the CAFTA Bill is not made public. What else are they not telling us? We already know that it will give away American Jobs, it will end our ability to take vitamins supplements without a prescription, and it will help end our borders and our sovereignty.
