Cornyn applauds Obama on immigration reform

Texas Sen. John Cornyn is lauding President Obama for pledging to tackle the touchy and complex subject of immigration reform this year.

Cornyn, R-San Antonio, was a key player in trying to shape a comprehensive immigration reform plan during the Bush administration, but a bipartisan compromise backed by Sens. John McCain, R-Ariz., and Ted Kennedy, D-Mass., fell apart in 2007. Since that time, Congress and the Bush and Obama administrations have focused on border security issues.

Here's what Cornyn said about the Obama White House's decision to re-open the public dialogue on immigration:

"I applaud President Obama's commitment to addressing comprehensive immigration reform this year, and stand ready to work with him to produce a product that represents the best interests of America, including respect for the rule of law, national security and economic security.

"Comprehensive, common-sense immigration reform remains a top priority for me. Any legislation must protect our borders, promote economic prosperity in Texas and throughout the United States, and be consistent with our American values of compassion, family and opportunity."

Get Cornyn out of government. What idiots. Why do we have to keep fighting this fight. Why are we wasting precious time on this issue. We already have immigration laws in place. Why do we need more?

Figures that RINO would bend over. I'm all for immigration "reform" as long as it does the following:

1. No amnesty ever again.

2. Close all loopholes enabling illegal immigration.

3. ENFORCE immigration laws immediately by cracking down hard on those who employee illegal aliens. Make it impossible for businesses to survive "exploiting" illegal aliens.

4. Along with employer enforcement, increase raids and deport any illegal aliens found.

5. Don't separate families - deport them together, minors must go with their illegal alien parents.

6. Cut the red tape for productive, self-supporting foreigners to emigrate legally.

7. Correctly interpret the 14th amendment. If the parents are illegal, so are their kids!

8. Crack down hard on anyone aiding and abetting illegal aliens, such as "advocates" who willingly exploit them for profit.

9. Cut off ALL government funding for organization such as LAraza and any other ethnic based enablers.

10. Make E-VERIFY, SAVE, 287(g) mandatory and pass a law making SSA/ICE/USCIS and all other govt agencies share info to facilitate exposing illegal aliens.

11. Mandatory ID laws for Voting, receiving benefits, SS, everything.

Please flood Sen. Cornyn's office with calls warning that we are letting US government policy be swayed by non-citizens. They may pose as constituents, think of themselves as constituents, call themselves that....but they are not constituents and are not the VOTING PUBLIC.
