Gun Smuggling Suspects Linked to Zapata Killing to Appear in Court

DALLAS - Three gun-smuggling suspects are set to appear in a Dallas federal court. Authorities say they are linked to a weapon tied to last month's fatal shooting of ICE special agent Jaime Zapata of Brownsville.

U.S. authorities say the gun used in the slaying was bought by one of the three suspects. The three men were arrested in their Dallas-area homes.

Zapata and ICE agent Victor Avila were shot Feb. 15 while driving on a highway in San Luis Potosi. Avila was wounded.
