(Thursday, September 03, 2009)

Sumas, Wash. - Sumas Border Patrol agents seized 99,000 Ecstasy pills valued at nearly $2 million and 32 pounds of cocaine with an estimated value of $1 million.

While out on patrol, U.S. Border Patrol agents identified foot prints from two individuals and traces of an object being dragged south from the border through a raspberry row. The foot prints stopped at a residential area not far from the border.

Agents searched the immediate area and discovered a large hockey bag hidden in some farm equipment. Inside the hockey bag were three backpacks, two containing 13 bricks of cocaine and one holding 10 sealed bags of Ecstasy pills.

The foot prints of the two individuals suspected of bringing the bag of drugs into the United States were traced back into Canada.

The Drug Enforcement Administration was notified and took custody of the drugs.
