GUST 30 LUNCHEON SEMINAR ON "PREPARING FOR CAFTA" AT WTC

New Orleans - On Tuesday, August 30 the World Trade Center and other organizations will sponsor a luncheon seminar from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. at the WTC on "Preparing for CAFTA: Getting Started in Exporting & Importing." The program will be moderated by Eugene Schreiber, Managing Director of the World Trade Center and will feature: Ruperto Chavarri, Programs Director for the Louisiana International Trade Center/SBDC who will discuss "U.S. Exports to the CAFTA Region"; John Hyatt, Vice President of the Irwin Brown Company, who will discuss "Importing Into the U.S. from CAFTA Countries"; and Edward Hayes, International Lawyer with the Saporito Law Firm who will discuss "Trade in Services Under CAFTA."

The purpose of this introductory seminar is to walk participants through the fundamentals of an international transaction, to give an overview of the basic export-import process, to discuss the advantages and special requirements of the CAFTA agreement, and to provide participants with the confidence and comfort level to demonstrate that it's not as daunting as one may think to succeed in international trade.
