Rep. Luis Gutierrez (D-IL) is now on a 20-city tour across the country to rally support for yet another attempt at amnesty for the millions of illegal aliens living in this country. However, this time the Congressman is not trying to put pressure on Congress, but on President Obama.

On Saturday, Gutierrez told a crowd at Lincoln United Methodist Church in Chicago that Obama should now use the executive power of the presidency to stop deportations.

Gutierrez said: “I have nothing but the greatest desire to vote for Barack Obama. I have nothing but the greatest desire to be helpful, and to join arms with him, and march across this country toward his re-election. But I cannot do that. We cannot do that, until we resolve the current conflict that exists between this administration and its Immigration policy.â€

NO amnesty

Gutierrez can stick it where the sun don't shine. Obama may want the latino votes but he is not going to cut his own throat by turning his back on the Legal American voters.

obama CAN NOT use the executive power or an executive order to stop deportations.
Only votes in congress can do that.
that is why there are three branches of government, they are there to keep the others "in line" so to speak

While he can't grant blanket amnesty threw Executive authority, he can by Decree & Executive order deferred action on deportations, although thats usually done on a case by case basis, congress has the power to immediately overturn such a decree threw a legislative act. I don't think this would fall under the Jurisdiction of the federal courts.

Luis is the court jester of Congress, always entertaining but no one takes him seriously. I hope Obama tries this, it will be his doom. He will be challenged in Congress, in court, and most importantly he will butchered in the voting booths. Go ahead Erkel,,, make our day!!

Actually, it's not even Latino, it's predominantly Mexican illegal immigrants. Yes, they have monopolized immigration in the United States and we have allowed them to do it by inaction.

It would be great to simply kick them all out, clean house, secure the border and start over. But that's not realistic because thousands of corporations sell billions of dollars worth of stuff to millions of illegals.

Rep. Gutierrez are not worried about illegal border crossings, he has not discussed what he will do to assist with ceasing the deadly crimes that may soon gain control in border States of Texas and Arizona, which are presently increasing on a daily basis. The United States immigration laws that he is suppose to assure is enforced; he has disregarded those laws, and possibly breaking laws himself by rendering so much support for illegal aliens. Frankly, he is committing acts of aiding and abetting, because he is using every tool possible to have laws ceased against illegal immigration, and instead of fighting for laws to be increased against undocumented criminals he encourages even more arrivals by going soft on the current immigration problems America has. Furthermore, he embraces laws broken by illegal aliens and that is not good for citizens or this Country.
