Congressman labeled a 'traitor' on immigration issue

A border enforcement activist is blasting an Illinois congressman for openly supporting illegal immigration.



On February 27, Representative Luis Gutierrez (D-Illinois) launched his "'Family Unity Immigration Outreach Tour." He claims the 16-city blitz will be "to document the harm caused to citizens across our nation in the absence of comprehensive immigration reform," which border enforcement advocates say is nothing but a code word for amnesty.

Al Garza, executive director of the Minuteman Civil Defense Corps and MinutemanCoalition.com, believes Gutierrez ought to be looking out for the best interests of American citizens, not foreign citizens.

"Anytime anyone talks to [Gutierrez], it's about how we can make it more appealing and more comfortable for someone who is here illegally, that it's total nonsense to enforce the laws because it's inhumane. They're supposed to be taking care of American citizens," he contends. "I don't see Luis Gutierrez protecting and defending, by the Constitution, the American citizen. When they are refusing to enforce laws, then to me it makes him nothing less than a traitor."

Gutierrez and other members of Congress, according to Garza, should be doing everything they can to help shut off the flow of illegal aliens who are invading the United States.
