Mexican national faces drug charges

LA CASITA — A Mexican national faced a federal judge Friday on two drug-related charges.

Michael Lee Montalvo, 22, was charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana and conspiracy with intent to distribute marijuana on Friday, according to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Montalvo was arrested Thursday by ICE agents in connection with a drug seizure last month.

On Sept. 6, agents discovered more than 3,600 pounds of marijuana from a home in La Casita. As of Friday night, Montalvo remained in custody of the U.S. Marshals.
