BREAKING NEWS: Hazleton immigration ordinance decision to come Thursday
Wednesday, 25 July 2007
A decision in the City of Hazleton’s Illegal Immigration Relief Act case is expected Thursday afternoon.
City officials confirmed they were notified the decision would be handed down in federal court in Scranton by Judge James Munley.
A press conference with Hazleton Mayor Lou Barletta and the legal team to discuss the decision is scheduled for 4 p.m. Thursday at City Hall.

This is exciting. At long last a case will begin the painful journey to the U.S. Supreme Court. I don't know what legal arguments were presented but I hope they are broad. Of course, the Supreme Court might not agree to hear it, but perhaps it will eventually clear up some muddy waters for the 3rd Circuit. We wish you well, Hazelton.

the last thing our opposition wants is this to pass, but even worse for this to go to the supreme court AND be heard and decided on before Federal law changes. Because there is no way that this will be declared unconstitutional... no way at all.
