LA Times Soul-Searches Immigration UPDATED X2

The LAT promises 6 months or so of Opinion and Op-ed soul-searching on the subject of immigration. They propose a wide-ranging discussion of views, an attempt to transcend clichés. They certainly present the problem in a nutshell:

America's current immigration policy is, in essence, to resolve all contradictions by ignoring them. We set rules, and then we don't enforce them. I would, however, question a premise of their inquiry:

For the United States, unlike most other nations, immigration is central to the national myth â€â€

How many illegals are there? LAT thinks 7,000,000 to over 20,000,000.

Yep....there's OVER 20,000,000 alright. Way Over!!

Nope. We don't want them as Citizens. We don't need any more Citizens.

We have a bloated population now that our economy can not sustain.

They have to GO HOME!!

No jobs, no priviliges, no benefits, jail, deportation, swifly, no compromise.

PERIOD.

Yup...............PERIOD!!

You would think that our elected leaders would get off of their collective hind ends and do something. I cant wait until the next election.
