PRINCETON BOROUGH - A 20-year-old borough man has been charged with three sex offenses for allegedly crawling under a Princeton University bathroom stall and groping a female student earlier this month in the Frist Campus Center, police said.

Wilmar E. Munoz-Rosales, of Lytle Street, was arrested on four felony charges at about 7:15 p.m. Wednesday following questioning by Detective Michael Bender, the police department said.

Munoz-Rosales had been observed along Nassau Street late last week by a witness who had seen him before he allegedly accosted the woman on campus Oct. 2, police spokesman Lt. Dennis Mcmanimon said.

On Wednesday afternoon, borough and university police officers staked out the borough's central business district and spotted the suspect, who was brought in for questioning, McManimon said.

The victim, whose name was not made public, was attacked at about 10:25 on a Sunday evening inside a first-floor bathroom by a man who put his hand over the victim's mouth. The victim screamed, another woman in the bathroom ran to get help, and the attacker ran away.

Authorities had previously described the incident as an attempted assault, but McManimon said the questioning of Munoz-Rosales led to the following charges: two counts of criminal sexual contact, one count of attempted criminal sexual contact and one count of criminal restraint.

Munoz-Rosales, whose immigration status is under investigation, was being held on $25,000 bail yesterday.
