Heroin Busts Estimated at $5 Million

U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers take nearly $5 million worth of drugs off our streets.

The first seizure happened at the Lincoln Juarez bridge over the weekend. CBP Officer discovered 15 lbs. of heroin inside an Oldsmobile driven by a 30 year old Houston woman. We're told the estimated street value of those narcotics is about $1.5 million dollars.

In a separate case at the Colombia Solidarity Bridge, hundreds of packages of marijuana were discovered. A total of 575 packages of the drug were found in a shipment of frozen mango pieces. This, following a thorough inspecting by CBP officers processing commercial items.

Homeland Security Investigation agents are now handling both cases.
