    This was not candy for someone with a sweet tooth.

    Federal agents at Newark Liberty International Airport have arrested four people they accused of attempting to smuggle $5M worth of heroin hidden in candy bars.

    Officials for the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement said today that more than 12 pounds of heroin was found, divided into pellets that were hidden in over one hundred candy bars.

    Authorities found the drugs during a routine inspection of the luggage of Eddie Palma-Jurado.

    The 22-year-old was arrested after arriving from Ecuador.

    Two other Ecuadorians were arrested in connection with the heroin smuggling as well as one American citizen.
