US Flag Not Allowed on Sept 11 to Honor Dead Americans

Last year May there was a near riot at Napa Valley High because the latino students were angry when American students flew American flags on their cars during cinco de mayo. I guess now this extetends for other events as well.

Dear editor, I attend Napa High School and on Sept. 11, nothing was mentioned about the terrorist attack.

It wasn’t mentioned in our daily bulletin, the teachers did not talk about it and there was no moment of silence. This disturbs me greatly because I feel it is important to honor those lives that were lost. Furthermore, students were not allowed to fly American flags on their cars in memory (they were told they would receive detentions). It disgusts me that a public high school is not willing to allow remembrance or patriotism on the anniversary of a national tragedy.

Most people forget that america's education is run by liberals who are willing to do anything to destroy a free and resourceful america. many liberals do not look at their policies to see what will happen in the next couple of years to their country. Instant gratification is the only thing they want.

Why isn't 9/11 turned into a National holiday. My husband took the day off wore a shirt with an American flag to hounour the 9/11 victims.

I watched a news report where one man on the street was asked what he thought about the honouring 9/11 he replied, " I think it is a disgrace."

I love it when I see children with American flags. Teach them young what being a patriot really means. It's great when High Schoolers also want to show their patriotism and fly the American flag. It's a shame that they are threatened with discipline for wanting to honor the heroes of 9/11. This is NOT Mexico!! (yet) Let our kids show their patriotism wherever, whenever they want!! That is something that should NEVER be a problem.
Bless my friends and family, and God Bless America!

Ban the Mexican flag in the U.S.!

There was a story a couple of years ago about an American soldier of Mexican descent who was killed in Iraq. His family, who lived in CA wanted him to be buried in Mexico. His body was shipped to Mexico with the American flag covering his casket. As soon as the military plane landed in Mexico with the soldier's body, the Mexican military arrived and removed the American flag and replaced it with the Mexican flag!

The US flag is not allowed to be displayed in Mexico!

Why is Cinco de Mayo an American holiday anyway? When did that one get slipped in? I don't remember it being a holiday when I was young.

Get rid of St.Patrick's day too, I say. Why do we need any foreign holidays in America? Don't we have any American holidays of our own?

9% of those killed on 9/11 were Hispanic, most were immigrants, many of them illegal immigrants.

Have the Mexicans who don't want tribute to the victims, or rememberance of this tragedy, forgotten this? Is it, maybe, that not "enough", in their minds, were killed? Could it be, that the Hispanics who were killed somehow "don't count" because they may have been other than the allegedly superior Mestizo, and even worse yet American born Hispanics?

Or, is it simply that, as far as the Mexicans, and Mexico, is concerned, we have no right to display the American flag, for any reason, in "their" country? Have they decided that the only patriotic commemorations and celebrations permitted will be as it pertains to them and Mexico?
