Hispanic Democrat Defames Holocaust -- Minuteman Demand Apology

PHOENIX, AZ -- The Minuteman Civil Defense Corps (MCDC) is demanding an apology from a Hispanic Democrat who made comments that have likened the December 12th enforcement of immigration laws by the U.S. Department of Immigration and Customs Enforcement at the Swift & Company meatpacking plant in Greeley, Colorado, to the 1930s attacks and discrimination laws against Jews by the Nazis.

These inflammatory comments seek to overshadow the true problems created by allowing aliens to enter our country illegally, proving yet again that the attempts to pass amnesty programs in Congress next year must be stopped.

A Democratic Party Activist, Carla Vela told Reuters News Service, "This unfortunately reminds me of when Hitler began rounding up the Jews for no reason and locking them up. Now they're coming for the Latinos, who will they come for next?" Vela was commenting on a recent letter by LULAC, The Mexican American Legal Defense Fund, the Hispanic National Bar Association and others to Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff.

"As the grandson of Holocaust survivors, I do not see how the enforcement of laws that keep our country safe is discriminatory or synonymous with the acts of Nazis" stated Bryan G. Rudnick, Communications Director of The Minuteman Civil Defense Corps.

"Anyone who chooses to compare the defense of our Constitution to the gas chambers in which members of my family died is minimizing the atrocities of the Holocaust."

The U.S. Department of Immigration and Customs Enforcement arrested 1200 illegal aliens and should continue to enforce U.S. immigration policy. Many of the illegal aliens captured in this raid and others caught sneaking through our borders have committed identity theft in order to obtain these jobs, thereby hurting law-abiding citizens and the companies they dupe.

"The United States Congress and the President have an obligation to enforce our current laws, not loosen them by providing amnesty programs, which have proven time and again not to work," continues Rudnick. "All too often Congress and the White House cave on this issue when these groups attempt to use the race card, and then the civil liberties of other law-abiding citizens get trampled."
