Police in two different cities say two women stole the identity of another person in order to work.
Mount Holly Police say Veronica Sanchez Triana, 26, of North Broad Street, allegedly stole the identity of a Charlotte woman in order to work at Pharr Yarns and American and Efird, according to a warrant affidavit. Mecklenburg County Department of Social Service is also investigating Triana in regard to an unemployment fraud case involving the identity theft.
Gaston County Police say Aaida Salda Ortiz, 33, of East Main Street, Dallas, allegedly stole the identity of another Charlotte woman in order to work at Dole Foods Inc. in Bessemer City. Ortiz allegedly used the woman's date of birth and Social Security number.
Ortiz was booked into Gaston County Jail under a $10,000 bond. Triana was booked into Gaston County Jail under a $2,000 bond.
